Joanne Robertson
Atikameksheng Anishnawbek First Nation, Ontario

“To plant something, or to invest in something we need seeds, or ideas. To drive these ideas we need keys. When our ideas have matured enough, we plant them, and nurture them so they can grow.”

Joanne is Anishinaabe Kwe living north of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario and a member of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. Joanne is a farmer, artist and writer. She also makes time to “Spot” water walkers as they walk to raise awareness about our responsibility to protect water. Joanne graduated with a degree in Fine Arts (Graphic Design and Native Arts & Culture) from Algoma University and Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.
