Journal of Aboriginal Management (JAM) Fall 2013 edition?
AFOA Canada is pleased to announce that the 13th edition of JAM: Journal of Aboriginal Managementwill be published and distributed this Fall. We are now accepting abstracts of articles for this edition.
Articles for this issue of JAM should focus on the theme of Human Resource Management, and be approximately 1,500 – 2,000 words in length.
AFOA Canada believes creating value through strategic management of human resources in the workplace is critical. Having knowledge of laws and policies that regulate both on and off-reserve employees can significantly assist our communities and organizations with the forward movement of business.
There are numerous functions of the human resource manager, including recruitment and selection, retention, compensation, performance management, training, health and safety, employee rights, succession planning, benefit plans, employment equity and much more.
- JAM is the only professional journal for Aboriginal management across Canada.
- It provides information on professional trends and innovations in Aboriginal management, interviews with leaders, and articles from national and regional experts, profiles of community based projects and initiatives and information on professional development resources.
- JAM is distributed to all 1,500 AFOA members and made available to all First Nations and Aboriginal communities and organizations. To view the last issue, click here.
