AFOA Canada to Host 1,000 Indigenous Business Leaders at its 19th Annual National Conference in Ottawa, ON
October 1, 2018 (Ottawa) – Today AFOA Canada kicks off its Inaugural International Conference to discuss “Human Capital – Balancing Indigenous Culture and Creativity with Modern Workplaces”. The Ottawa Shaw Centre will be home to over 1,000 prominent Indigenous business and elected leaders from around the world October 2-4, 2018.
There are several drivers that are shaping how Indigenous communities manage their programs, services and human capital. These drivers include but are not limited to global connectivity, smart machines, new media, social and economic prosperity and demographic shifts. This conference will examine two relevant topics that need to be considered which are The Changing Nature of Work and Inclusive Growth
“This AFOA National Conference highlights the importance of human capital within Indigenous Communities in Canada” says Terry Goodtrack, President and CEO of AFOA Canada. “The plenary discussions on The Changing Nature of Work and Inclusive Growth are topical to some of broader issues that Indigenous communities are facing today and in the future.”
