EDMONTON _ Alberta Premier Rachel Notley’s cabinet is about to undergo some changes.

The NDP government says in a release that Notley would introduce new cabinet ministers at a swearing-in ceremony in Edmonton Tuesday.

Notley started her term as premier last May with one of the smallest cabinets in Alberta history _ just 12 members, including herself.

That changed to 13 last fall with the creation of the Economic Development and Trade portfolio.

It’s been a rough ride at times for the cabinet, as oil prices have slumped and thousands of jobs have disappeared from the oilpatch.

In the 2016-17 budget, the government will begin borrowing millions of dollars just to finance day-to-day operating expenses.
