The mining industry is experiencing a shortage of skilled workers, and the rapidly growing Indigenous youth population represents an untapped labor force that can help meet this demand. Attracting and retaining more Indigenous peoples in the mining industry will require a combination of solutions – from finding innovative ways to reflect cultural norms of various Indigenous communities – to enhancing opportunities for challenge, growth and success in a variety of career paths.
