AUMA: Congratulations to the winners of the 2021 Minister’s Awards for Municipal Excellence

Each year since 2002, the Minister’s Awards for Municipal Excellence program has encouraged municipalities to share their successes by recognizing accomplishments in providing municipal services to Albertans.

AUMA is proud to see eight of our members recognized for their collaboration, hard work, and creativity. Congratulations to the City of Medicine Hat, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Town of Devon, Town of Okotoks, and Town of Bruderheim!

This year, the Minister of Municipal Affairs also recognized the Village of Elnora, the City of Lloydminster, and Red Deer County for their efforts in reducing red tape.

  • Building Economic Strength Category: City of Medicine Hat, Innovative Approach to Economic Supports

  • Partnership Category: Town of Devon (with Enoch Cree Nation – Maskêkosihk), Indigenous Engagement and Relationship Building
  • Service Delivery Innovation Category: Town of Okotoks, Okotoks Transit On-Demand
  • Smaller Municipalities Category: Town of Bruderheim, Climate Resilience Action Plan
