Aboriginal youth in the province will get an opportunity to learn about careers in health care during a, first of its kind, Healers of Tomorrow Gathering at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland next month.
From Aug. 1 to 7 participants in the careers camp will get the opportunity to explore a cross-section of health careers, both university- and college-oriented.
Participants will be introduced to careers in medicine, nursing, lab technology and social work. Elders and healers from participating communities will also be present to teach students about aboriginal cultures and medicines.
