Canada’s Justice Minister and Attorney General David Lametti announced on Thursday that the federal government will be providing $332,000 in funding for families of murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls for counselling services over three years at Caring Hearts counselling.
“This project is helping to provide these families with better resources and assistance through culturally appropriate education, support and awareness,” said Lametti.
The minister added that Caring Hearts is working with Indigenous people to also develop take-home resources that will bridge service gaps and build capacity in more communities.
