Recommendation was received by Supervisor Bruce Rodrigues during Peel District School Board’s September meeting
October 13, 2022
A proposal to develop a space for Indigenous learning at Peel District School Board has been approved by Supervisor Bruce Rodrigues.
Nicole Reynolds, the Indigenous education co-ordinator at PDSB, presented a report recommending the creation of a Centre for Indigenous Excellence and Land Based Learning during the board meeting on Sept. 28.
The centre would be a place for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students.
She outlined this would be part of the board’s commitment to improving outcomes for Indigenous students and upholding the distinct and inherent rights of First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples.
