CESO Announces Changes to Board of Directors

TORONTO, October 13, 2020 – On September 17, CESO held its annual general meeting virtually where members announced the election of a new chair and vice chair to the board of directors.

CESO is pleased to welcome Wendy Evans to the position of board chair. Ms. Evans assumes the role after having served as a board member since 2013.

Ms. Evans brings extensive expertise in international business expansion and public-private partnerships to her role as chair. Throughout her career that spans 35 years, she has held senior leadership and advisory positions with some of North America’s most prominent retail companies. Passionate about business development in Canada’s Indigenous communities, Ms. Evans is committed to expanding CESO’s programs that foster community growth across the country.

“Wendy exemplifies a commitment to excellence and sustainable economic impact that is deeply reflective of our mission and vision for a more inclusive and prosperous world,” says Wendy Harris, CESO CEO and President.

Ms. Evans succeeds Glenn Nolan, who will transition to the role of past chair. Mr. Nolan, an active CESO Advisor, has been a valued and integral CESO board member since 2012 and chair since 2018. CESO is truly grateful to Mr. Nolan for his inspired counsel through the organization’s growth.

Darren Schemmer, a CESO board member since 2015, is the new vice chair. Mr. Schemmer brings over 30 years of international development and diplomacy experience to the position.

CESO welcomes the continued leadership of Ms. Evans and Mr. Schemmer and looks forward to the ways in which their dedication and passion for business and global development will enable great progress in our mission toward economic and social prosperity.
