Re: Chiefs of Ontario First Nation Water Policy Forum
Further to the previous Announcement regarding the Chiefs of Ontario First Nation Water Policy Forum scheduled for October 15-16-17, 2008 to be held at the Garden River First Nation Recreation Centre located close to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.Location: The Garden River First Nation Education/Recreation Centre is located on the North Shore of the St. Mary’s in the District of Algoma in Northern Ontario. The City of Sault Ste. Marie lies immediately west and the Village of Echo Bay can be found to the east. It is also immediately north of the international border between Canada and the United States.
The Education/Recreation Centre facility is a 20 minute drive from downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and a 40 minute drive from Sault Ste. Marie Airport.
Finance: We have secured funding to cover expenses for ONE representative per community.
The following reflects the expenses that will be covered:
– Accommodations in Sault Ste. Marie(October 14-15-16, 2008)
– Travel Subsidy (to be determined)
– Continental breakfast (provided on October 15); Hot breakfast provided on October 16 and 17) and lunch will be provided for the duration of the Forum.
Guestrooms: have been blocked in Sault Ste. Marie at the following hotels
1) Holiday Inn (120 guestrooms);
2) Travelodge (60 guestrooms);
3) Days Inn (20 guestrooms).
To book your room please contact Dianne Simon or Sara General at 1-877-517-6527 as Chiefs of Ontario will be providing a master room listing. Cut-off date is Friday, October 3, 2008.
TRAVEL:
For air travel, please call your travel agent and give them the convention code/promotion code numbers listed below to receive discount for travel. These discounts will apply to flights from all points in the Air Canada, Bearskin Airlines, Wasaya, and Air Canada system to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontairo. Travel is valid between Saturday, October 11 to Friday, Monday, October 20, 2008.

SHUTTLE SERVICE: a local shuttle bus service to/from hotels and conference site will be available daily to depart at the designated hotels at 7:30 a.m. and return evenings 5:00 p.m. (Please see attached Registration Form).
