Eel Ground FN: Precautionary Boil Water Advisory – April 28, 2016
PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER ADVISORY- APRIL 28th, 2016
RE: Precautionary Boil Water Advisory – April 28, 2016
Due to the upcoming water system shut-down, a boil water advisory is recommended for the community. It should be implemented beginning when the water is turned on at approximately 8:00 am Thursday, April 28, 2016. This is a precautionary measure due to the loss of pressure in the system during the shut-down.
All residents of the Eel Ground water system should be advised to boil their water for at least 1 minute, prior to consumption. This applies to water used for drinking, washing fruit/vegetables, preparing food, making ice cubes, and brushing teeth. The use of an alternate safe source of water may also be used. Tap water may continue to be used for washing dishes, bathing (except toddlers/ infants), and laundry.
It is recommended that the boil water advisory remain in effect until a minimum of two sets of microbiological samples indicate the water is safe for consumption, and Health Canada advises lifting the advisory.
