HALIFAX _ Nova Scotia’s auditor general wants the hospitality and travel expenses of senior government officials to be publicly disclosed.

Michael Pickup says the expenses of those officials with boards and agencies should also be publicly reported.

Pickup says the current policy does not address things such as the hosting of delegations or other visitors to the province.

The report raises alarm bells again about the province’s net debt.

Pickup says it is increasing faster than the province’s population.

He says the government’s debt increased by two per cent in 2014-15 and stands at $15,944 for every resident of the province.
