Feds offering assisted departure for Canadians in Haiti – March 25, 2024

In Ottawa, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly announces the launch of small-scale departure options for Canadian citizens to leave Haiti for the Dominican Republic. The announcement comes as Haiti continues to be gripped by a humanitarian crisis and widespread gang violence, with Port-au-Prince’s airport remaining closed.
Minister Joly is joined by her assistant deputy minister Julie Sunday.
