Financial Literacy Month
21 November 2023
In November, the Government of Nunavut marks Financial Literacy Month, an annual campaign by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) to help Canadians successfully manage their personal finances. As part of the 2021-2026 National Financial Literacy Strategy, this year’s campaign theme is “Managing Your Money in a Changing World”. The FCAC advises Canadians to:
Understand the importance of financial health.
Monitor progress in handling debt.
Be informed when making financial decisions.
Manage money.
Learn about consumer rights when borrowing money.
The Consumer Affairs Section of the Department of Community and Government Services (CGS) works to grow consumer awareness by giving advice and support to Nunavummiut and resolving consumer complaints or concerns.
