Roughly 220 people from a Manitoba first nation community are in Winnipeg after a fire forced them from their homes.
The Red Cross started flying out residents of Red Sucker Lake early Saturday morning.
Kaelyn Hodder Provincial Manager of the Disaster Management Program tells 680 CJOB they were first informed of the fire on Friday.
She says the residents who’ve been evacuated are listed as a priority.
“A lot of infants and elders or if anyone has needs that would be affected by smoke,” says Hodder.
