FSIN calls for federal support during Spring Assembly – battlefordsNOW

Minister of Justice and Attorney General David Lametti was presented with one white moccasin during the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) Spring Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

This was the FSIN’s call for collaboration and support from the federal government to get justice for residential school survivors, the children who didn’t make it home and their families.

The white moccasin symbolized the purity and innocence of First Nations children.

FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron said the effects of residential schools are still being felt.
