We are thrilled to announce the 2024 recipient of the CWB Wealth Indigenous Health Scholarship, in partnership with ARNET (Alberta Registered Nurses Educational Trust), Karen Hanson! 🎉
Karen has been working with Indigenous communities in Canada for over 4 years now, from Ojibwe, to Cree, to Dene. She has witnessed major nursing shortages impacting healthcare delivery and posing challenges for communities’ health and safety.
To improve this outcome, Karen wants to complete her master’s degree to become a Nurse Practitioner and be part of the regular healthcare team in the communities that she has come to know so well. Recognizing the need to ensure equitable healthcare for Indigenous Peoples in Canada, we are honored to support Karen in her journey.
In a 4-part video series, you’ll learn more about Karen, her nursing practice, and her professional project. Today, we kick it off with a rapid-fire interview 🔥 Stay tuned for more!
