Government of Yukon implements new technology to enhance health care delivery for Yukoners
September 5, 2025
The Department of Health and Social Services is implementing Heidi Health, a clinical documentation support tool, in several Government of Yukon operated clinics. The Heidi Health AI medical scribe will be used at Centre de santé Constellation Health Centre, Dawson City Medical Clinic, Whitehorse Walk-In Clinic, Yukon Healthy Living Program and the Yukon Midwifery Program.
Heidi Health’s clinical tool is designed to assist clinicians with real-time documentation. Clients are informed at the start of their appointment and can choose to opt in or out of having their session transcribed. If a client consents, Heidi Health accurately and automatically transcribes spoken content into clinical documentation during appointments. This transcription reduces time spent on administrative tasks, improves documentation accuracy and allows clinicians to focus fully on clients during appointments.
Heidi Health meets Canadian privacy and security requirements, ensuring that personal health information is handled in accordance with national standards.
In initiating this partnership with Heidi Health, the Government of Yukon is supporting new technology intended to enhance the care experience for both clinicians and clients in the territory. This project aligns with the Yukon government’s goals of modernizing health care service delivery, better supporting health care providers and improving client experience in the Yukon’s health care system.
The Government of Yukon is committed to supporting health care professionals and improving health and wellness outcomes for Yukoners. Our investment in Heidi Health’s AI medical scribe is an important step in providing access to technological innovation to improve the experience for clients. Thank you to our dedicated program staff and to Heidi Health whose commitment and hard work have helped ensure that this technology is available in our health care system.
Minister of Health and Social Services Tracy-Anne McPhee
