Have Your Say on Mental Wellness and Addictions Recovery Services

A survey as been released by the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) to gather feedback on current mental wellness and addictions recovery services available to NWT residents. These services include the Community Counselling Program (including Child and Youth Counsellors), Helplines, e-Mental health apps/websites, Facility-based Addictions Treatment, community-based supports, and more.

Anyone living in the Northwest Territories, regardless of whether they have used these services, are encouraged to participate in the survey by March 25, 2024. Individuals can also respond on behalf of their child or dependent.

The results of the survey are intended to inform the GNWT on the level of public awareness, accessibility, and user satisfaction with these services. The GNWT also recognizes the importance of capturing the perspectives of those who may not currently use mental wellness and addictions recovery services but who could benefit from them in the future for themselves or their loved ones. By gathering feedback on both positive and negative experiences, the GNWT aims to improve the quality of these services, address barriers to access, and monitor program improvement over time.

The survey can be found:

• Online, or
• By obtaining a paper copy from your local health centre or Community Counselling Program office, or
• By providing your mailing address to mha@gov.nt.ca to request a paper copy by standard mail.

Interpretation services for Indigenous Languages will be available on request at health centres and can be requested from the Indigenous Languages and Education Secretariat by calling (867) 767-9346 ext. 71037 or emailing Indigenous_languages@gov.nt.ca.
