In Ottawa, a group of health workers from across Canada urge the federal government to oppose the privatization of health care and support the implementation of universal pharmacare. The news conference is organized by the Canadian Health Coalition (CHC), which has organized a two-day ‘Health and Hope Lobby’ event that will see more than 100 front-line workers, patients and advocates gather on Parliament Hill in support of the public system.
Providing remarks are Pauline Worsfold (registered nurse and chair of the CHC), Kieran Shoker (pharmacist from Prince George, B.C.), Vivian Eze (long-term care nurse from Whitehorse), and Fréderic Brisson (former personal support worker from Québec City).
