Heart of Our Nation – Matt James

Matt James, an Anishinaabe of the Mattagami First Nation in Ontario, has spent his life in music and recorded his first album in Nashville, Tennessee in 2018. Since then, his career has taken the music charts by storm.

Matt begins the interview by describing the background of just how his musical journey started with a simple and unexpected phone call that led through a some ups and downs before he got to record his first album. James then continues to delve into his career and musical inspiration, including the latest video project from his album A Miner’s Prayer.
