In 2021 Francine Eades lead the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccinations to the State’s Indigenous population, sitting down with community leaders and organising hundreds of targeted events, including State, pop-up and mobile clinics.

More than 82 per cent of Aboriginal people in WA received at least one dose of vaccine before the wave of 2022 COVID-19 outbreaks, making it the country’s most successful campaign.

A Minang Noongar woman, Francine has been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List with the Public Service Medal.

Currently the East Metropolitan Health Service’s area director of Aboriginal health, in this episode of Paint it Blak, Francine explains to Emma the importance of Indigenous champions taking control of Aboriginal health.
