A few days ago we learned of the discovery of more than 200 children’s remains at the site of a former Residential School in Kamloops.
This raises questions about what took place while these schools were in operation across Canada as well as the continuing impact that these atrocities have had on indigenous people.
In light of this news and Indigenous History Month 2021, Charity discusses the importance of educating Canadians about the history of Canadian Indigenous Peoples and the realities of this genocide.
She discusses several steps that can be taken to move forward with truth and reconciliation in Canada.
