In a news conference on Parliament Hill, Indigenous Services Minister Marc Miller discusses an upcoming meeting between health-care representatives and federal, provincial, and Indigenous leaders aimed at addressing systemic racism in Canada’s health-care system. He also comments on incidents of violence and vandalism directed Mi’kmaw lobster fishers in Nova Scotia due to an ongoing dispute over the fishery. The minister is joined by Dr. Tom Wong, the chief medical officer of public health for Indigenous Services Canada, for an update on the impact of the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic on Indigenous communities in Canada.
