Inquest Date into the Death of Katelynn Sampson Announced
August 13, 2015
Dr. Roger Skinner, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto West Office, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Katelynn Sampson.
Katelynn, aged 7, died on August 3, 2008, while in the care of her legal guardians.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Katelynn’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last four weeks and to hear from approximately 30 witnesses.
The inquest will begin on Mon., Nov. 9, 2015, at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex, Court Room A, 25 Morton Shulman Ave., Toronto. Dr. William Lucas will preside as inquest coroner and Nicole Bailey will be counsel to the coroner.
