Tyadg McGauley spent years playing in junior and pro hockey leagues in Canada, the U.S. and even Japan.
Now the 29-year-old is giving back by offering hockey camps to Indigenous youth, who don’t always have a chance to play Canada’s game.
A couple of years ago, McGauley and his brothers would frequently practise at the Co-operators Centre. They would sometimes invite Kayden Nahnepowisk — an Indigenous hockey player who was also out practising — to join them.
It was a gesture McGauley didn’t realize had such an impact.
