ITAC and Nova Scotia Indigenous Tourism Enterprise Network to Co-Host Provincial and Territorial Partners Meeting
Kjipuktuk (Halifax, NS) – The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) and Nova Scotia Indigenous Tourism Enterprise Network (NSITEN) will welcome their partners at the Hotel Halifax for a meeting and networking event at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia on September 20, 2023.
The meeting will focus on national alignment with key discussions around marketing, development, leadership and partnership, including updates on The Original Original Accreditation Program and the 2023-24 Business Support Program. Moreover, new programs and projects will be discussed, such as the Indigenous Tourism Destination Fund, Truth2Action and Reconciliation on Tourism Training, Discover Indigenous Tourism website and the 2024 International Indigenous Tourism Conference.
The trip will begin with an ITAC Board of Directors meeting, including leadership from the 13 provinces and territories. Later, ITAC and NSITEN invite partners and local tour operators to join an open house reception — featuring special performances and appetizers — on Wednesday, September 20, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia at 1723 Hollis Street in Halifax.
“These two days of meetings will attract a large attendance of the ITAC board, staff, and partners from the province and build on the momentum of the association seen at the most recent Provincial and Territorial Partnership Meeting hosted in Whitehorse, Yukon,” says Keith Henry, ITAC President & CEO. “ITAC is proud to co-host this Provincial and Territorial Partners Meeting with NSITEN and to hear from our partners as we continue to align our work towards ITAC’s vision to help make Canada the global leader in Indigenous tourism by 2030.”
ITAC would like to thank our partners for gathering in person and virtually with us – Nova Scotia Indigenous Tourism Enterprise Network; Indigenous Destinations Saskatchewan; Indigenous PEI; Indigenous Tourism Alberta; Indigenous Tourism Association of New Brunswick; Indigenous Tourism BC; Indigenous Tourism Manitoba; Indigenous Tourism Quebec; Newfoundland & Labrador Indigenous Tourism Association; and Yukon First Nations Culture & Tourism Association.
