Library receives donation to purchase books on Indigenous history and culture – FortSaskOnline.com
29 November 2021
The library has some brand-new books, thanks to the Rotary Club.
Last Tuesday (Nov.23), members of the Fort Saskatchewan Rotary Club presented a $400 cheque to the Fort Saskatchewan Public Library to expand their collection of Indigenous materials. Last week also happened to be Canada History Week, with a focus this year on Indigenous history.
“[The Rotary Club] want to further their education and reading and exploration of this particular topic. They believe in diversity and inclusion, equity and reconciliation, and so do we. So, it’s really nice to align and partner and team up with an organization that shares the same values that the library does,” explained library director Michele Fedyk.
