MNP Local Accounting Firm Reaching Out and Paying ForwardLocal Accounting Firm Reaching Out and Paying Forward

Monday, October 3, 2016 WINNIPEG, MB — MNP LLP, Canada’s fastest growing accounting, tax and business consulting firm, is paying it forward, contributing five percent of each new Winnipeg client’s fees towards two local Winnipeg not-for-profits.

Starting September 1, 2016 and running until May 30, 2017, for every referral provided to MNP Winnipeg office, we will reach out and make a donation to one of two charities in the client’s honour of five percent of our first year’s fees. Every year we will work with two local not-for-profit organizations which are recognized for their contributions to the Winnipeg community. This year we are supporting CanU Canada and Andrews Street Family Centre.

“MNP is committed to strengthening the communities we work and live in,” says program chair Ken Kustra, CPA, CA, CIA. “MNP is taking steps to reach out and make Winnipeg an even better place to live by supporting organizations like CanU Canada and Andrews Street Family Centre through our Reach Out – Pay Forward campaign. We recognize and commend both organizations for the tremendous work they do in support of Winnipeg’s youth and families.” CanU Canada is a Winnipeg-based charitable organization that inspires hope and confidence in the leaders of tomorrow through its out-of-school mentorship and educational enrichment program for youth in Grades 5-12. The organizations was thrilled to be part of MNP’s Reach Out program.

“We are excited for all the good this can do not only for the 600-plus kids currently enrolled and registered in CanU programs but also the 600-plus young leaders who are mentors and instructors and coordinators of all our after school education and nutrition and sports programs,” says Roger Berrington, Executive Director, CanU Canada. “It is great to work with an organization that has such rich history and roots in Winnipeg and Manitoba.”

Andrews Street Family Centre is a family resource centre that builds on the community’s strengths; encourages our families, individuals, elders, children and youth to reach their full potential through support and friendship.

“Andrews Street Family Centre is so grateful and excited about being selected to be a part of MNP’s Reach Out Program,” says Dilly Knoll, Executive Director, Andrews Street Family Centre. “These funds mean a great deal for our Centre because it will be money that we can use where it is needed most. This will allow us to reach more families and walk with them towards success.”

We also look forward to seeing you at our reach out celebration in June 2017 where MNP will recognize our partners in this campaign and announce the next charities selected for our 2017 Pay it Forward program.

Working together we can make a difference in the lives of people and strengthen our community.
