LSSU grad probes missing, murdered Indigenous persons – Sault Star

A Lake Superior State University graduate is one of 10 coordinators named by the Department of Justice to investigate missing and murdered Indigenous persons.

Joel Postma, a 1992 LSSU graduate, will oversee Michigan cases, a release says.

He was an FBI agent for 25 years, Postma will work with First Nations and law enforcement. He’ll be based out of the U.S. Attorney’s office in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Postma investigated missing children, runaways, drug crimes and deaths in First Nations in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula early in his career.
