MCA Announces Executive Director Resignation and Appointment

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is notifying the community of the resignation of Executive Director Mose Herne, effective November 29, 2024. We would like to thank Mr. Herne for the time committed to the MCA organization and wish him well in his future endeavors.

The MCA Executive Committee will lead the recruitment and hiring process for a new Executive Director. In the interim, Council has appointed Associate Director Shannon Roundpoint to a 6-month minimum term as Executive Director, effective December 2, 2024.

Services and programs to the community remain a priority and we are confident that the MCA team will continue to provide exemplary service throughout this transition.
