Media Advisory: Bright Minds from Across the Nation Gather to Discuss How to End Homelessness
CALGARY, ALBERTA–(April 21, 2015) – The Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) along with The School of Public Policy, Homeward Trust Edmonton, Alberta Centre for Child, Family & Community Research as well as the 7 Cities on Housing and Homelessness will host Calgary’s third research symposium with key note speakers Dr. Stephen Gaetz and Dr. Tim Aubry. This symposium is an opportunity to bring together homeless sector service providers, individuals with lived experience, academia, government and community stakeholders to share advances in data collection for client programs and system outcomes, as well as present new knowledge about best practices in data collection and analysis. This free event is generously sponsored by Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP (BD&P).
This two-day symposium will feature many high profile speakers including:
- Keynote by Dr. Stephen Gaetz, Director, The Canadian Observatory on Homelessness/Homeless Hub; President, Raising the Roof and Professor, Faculty of Education, York University.
- Keynote by Dr. Tim Aubry, Faculty of Social Sciences Research Chair in Community Mental Health and Homelessness, Professor, School aof Psychology and Senior Researcher, Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services, University of Ottawa.
- Dr. Ron Kneebone, Area Director, Economic and Social Policy, The School of Public Policy, University of Calgary.
