Media advisory – Minister Anandasangaree and President Chartrand to sign a historic Self-government Treaty

Winnipeg, Manitoba — Please be advised that the Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and David Chartrand, President of the Manitoba Métis Federation, National Government of the Red River Métis, will participate in the Red River Métis Self-Government Recognition and Implementation Treaty signing ceremony in Winnipeg.

Media wishing to attend are asked to pre-register with the Media Relations team of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada at RCAANC.media.CIRNAC@sac-isc.gc.ca.

Media will be asked to provide identification to access the event.

Time: 2:00 p.m. (CST)

The ceremony will be followed by a media availability at 3:30 pm (CST) in an adjoining room. Please note that the media availability will also be accessible virtually. Please contact the MMF’s technical team to obtain a link.

Please note that the signing ceremony will also be broadcast live on the Manitoba Métis Federation’s YouTube channel.
