— New faces in the new cabinet? A week after La Presse reported that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to reveal his cabinet the week of October 25, CBC News is now reporting the same. What remains to be seen is whether any veteran cabinet ministers will change roles or leave cabinet — and if so, who.
Per the CBC, Trudeau is expected to add several new faces. One portfolio that is expected to change hands is defence. Senior Liberals reportedly expect Harjit Sajjan to be shuffled to a new position. The official date of the unveiling will be made public today — as well as, potentially, the date for the return of Parliament.

But while the end to months of highly restricted travel is finally in sight, the same cannot be said for mandatory PCR tests in order to return to Canada. Speaking in D.C. yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland sounded closed off to the idea of scrapping the mandatory nasal test. “The rules are the rules,” she said.
