The Strathcona County Museum and Archives, also known as Strathma, is preparing for a showcase of Indigenous artists.
Strathma is the venue for the first Celebrating Multicultural Strathcona event, which will welcome Indigenous artists to bead, sew, knit, paint and create on Friday, June 16.
“We’ve opened up an invitation to local Indigenous artists in Strathcona County and Edmonton to come and use this space as a workshop space to do their work for the day, create together and share stories if they feel comfortable,” explained Aimee Elise Shaw, project coordinator for Celebrating Multicultural Strathcona.
Shaw said it is important to help create a network.
