Ontario has appointed a new judge to the Ontario Court of Justice, effective May 27, 2015.

Justice Allan Maclure was called to the bar of Ontario in 1988. For the past five years, he has worked as a Crown Prosecutor at the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service. Prior to that, he served for 10 years at the Department of Justice Canada in Vancouver and Toronto, specializing in Aboriginal law. Justice Maclure has also worked as counsel for the Ministry of the Attorney General, the Law Society of Upper Canada, and children’s aid societies in Ontario. He has practiced law in several Canadian jurisdictions, including British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Before his legal career, Justice Maclure worked with mentally disabled adults and provided support to homeless youth.

An active member of his community, Justice Maclure has served on the board of directors for Access for Parents and Children in Ontario and Catholic Settlement House Toronto. He received The Honourable Mr. Justice Neil Sharkey Volunteer Service Award for his service to the Law Society of Nunavut in 2012.

Chief Justice Lise Maisonneuve has assigned Justice Maclure to preside in London.
