HALIFAX – The Green party of Nova Scotia insists it is still a political force in the province.
The party’s official agent says in a statement that members are building their team for the next provincial election.
Ian Charles says the party will have a new interim leader by July 9 when Brynn Nheiley steps down.
Nheiley announced last week that the party was shutting down because it didn’t have enough support, prompting a response from the party that it was still very much alive.
Charles says officials met with Elections Nova Scotia last week to indicate the party will submit paperwork for a new interim leader by July 19.
He says the party will also be renewing its executive in the coming weeks.
