NT Government: Take a Family on the Land Returns

April 12, 2022

For the second year in a row, the Government of the Northwest Territories is offering funding to organizations to help families get out on the land. The program is designed to help offset the costs of participating in on the land experiences, so more residents can get involved. Some of the experiences available for funding include camping, boating, fishing, hunting, and other traditional activities.

Indigenous governments, Indigenous organizations, community governments and not-for-profit associations can apply for funding to support families in their community. Individuals cannot apply for this program directly. Successful applicants will receive up to $10,000 to support families who may not have the resources to participate in on the land activities.

Families are defined as any two or more people who play an important role in each other’s lives, and all family combinations, including single-parent families and multigenerational families, are eligible.

Applications will be accepted from April 11 to May 11, 2022.
