Park Celebration planned for Sylvia Grinnell Saturday

Nunavut Territorial Parks, in conjunction with Parks Canada, invites Iqalummiut to celebrate Canada’s Parks Day on Saturday July 20 at Sylvia Grinnell Park in Iqaluit from noon until 4 p.m.
This annual celebration showcases the spectacular personal, social and societal benefits enjoyed by millions of people who experience Canada’s incredible network of parks.
This year’s event at Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park includes traditional tea making, a native plant walk, an interpretive walk, water insect sampling, information table on arctic char, face painting, BBQ and an information table on local rock and carving stone.
Buses will start at 11:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m. The bus schedule is as follows: Apex (every 2 hours), Apex Quick Stop, bottom of Road to Nowhere, bottom of One Way Road (House 420), Tammaativvik, Ventures Marketplace, Northmart, Parnaivik and Sylvia Grinnell Park. Buses will run every hour on the hour.
