Phil is an Elder of the Tlingit First Nation in the Yukon. His work takes many forms, but centers around empowering others. He leads ceremony often, and works at the Jackson Lake Healing Camp where they follow a land-based healing model for helping those who battle with addiction.

In this conversation we begin with Phil’s experience as a young man in residential school and the prison system in Canada. We get into a lot of other subjects, including sweat lodge ceremony, fasting, and healing as an individual process.
