PLATO Testing Acquires IT Consultants To Expand Footprint in Saskatchewan Market
REGINA & FREDERICTON (February 23, 2022) – PLATO Testing, Canada’s only Indigenous-led and staffed IT services and training firm, has acquired Information Technology Consultants Ltd., a Saskatchewan-based firm that specializes in independent IT staffing solutions for some of the province’s leading organizations including the Government of Saskatchewan, SaskTel, SaskEnergy, The Co-operators, and Farm Credit Canada.
“ITC has been a leader in the IT consulting field in Saskatchewan for more than eight years now, and we are pleased to be joining forces to continue providing IT services to clients in the province,” says PLATO Testing CEO and Founder Keith McIntosh. “As PLATO eyes an expansion of our service offerings beyond software testing, we’re grateful to have the extensive knowledge and experience of the ITC team.”
Over its years in business, ITC has developed an extensive network in the Saskatchewan market and a roster of expert consultants. Their services offerings, including project management, business analysis, infrastructure, architecture, IT planning, and management consulting will continue to be relied upon going forward as the two organizations become one.
“From the first day that we learned about what PLATO Testing was doing, we wanted to be a part of it,” says former ITC Principal and current PLATO Chief Customer Officer Craig Fiske. “Being part of the PLATO mission and sharing that opportunity with the corporate and government community in Saskatchewan has been incredible. Working toward something bigger than ourselves is what gets me out of bed in the morning and we couldn’t be happier to be doing that with the team at PLATO.”
PLATO Testing and its sister company PQA Testing have been delivering software testing solutions to clients across Canada and around the world for 25 years. Their unique train-and-employ model, which recruits Indigenous students for an 8-month software tester training program and guarantees a full-time job for successful graduates, is well known in provincial markets, including in Saskatchewan. The model was included in the Government of Saskatchewan’s Growth Plan as a way to triple the growth of the technology sector in the province by 2030.
This acquisition comes at a time of major momentum for PLATO which is currently seeking strategic growth investment from Indigenous investment partners across the country.
