Provincial and territorial leaders hold a news conference following the Council of the Federation’s two-day meeting in Halifax. Nova Scotia Premier and Council Chair Tim Houston outlines the discussions that took place on priorities including the economy, environmental stewardship, affordable housing, sustainable growth, Canada-U.S. relations, and trade between provinces. The premiers also discussed the federal government’s carbon pricing policy and its impacts on different regions of the country. Joining Houston at the press conference are Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs, B.C. Premier David Eby, Newfoundland and Labrador premier Andrew Furey, P.E.I. Premier Dennis King, and Jean-François Roberge, Quebec Minister Responsible for Canadian Relations and the Canadian Francophonie.
