Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivers remarks at an event marking the announcement of Toronto as the Women’s National Basketball Association’s (WNBA) newest team and 14th franchise. Toronto will be the MNBA’s first international franchise and will begin playing in 2026. Trudeau is joined in Toronto by former WNBA player Stacey Dales, league commissioner Cathy Engelbert, Kilmer Sports Venture’s Larry Tanenbaum, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Mayor Olivia Chow.
