Nalcor officials say protesters who had been blocking the Muskrat Falls and North Spur sites left the area this morning.
The protesters were upset following an incident that saw a young Innu worker kicked in the head by another man. That led to concerns about racism on the worksite and calls for Nalcor to address the ongoing problem.
Nalcor officials met with members of the Innu Nation yesterday.
Vice President of the Lower Church Project with Nalcor Gilbert Bennett says contractors are calling in workers and are working to resume normal operations at the two sites. Bennett says the most important thing they can do is to ensure that they operate a respectful and safe work environment.
