RCMP and MFNPS investigate found human remains

On August 11, 2020, at approximately 12:45 pm, Manitoba First Nation Police Service responded to a report of found human remains, in a wooded area, just outside the community.
The RCMP Major Crime Unit were notified and are assisting MFNPS with the investigation.
The identity of the remains is unknown at this time.
On August 12, 2020, Search and Rescue conducted a comprehensive search of the area.
MFNPS, RCMP Major Crime Services, Forensic Identification Services and the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, continue to investigate.
