RCMP lays charges in hit and run death of Ryan Nuke in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

On May 13, 2021, 35-year-old Simon Tremblay of Happy Valley-Goose Bay was charged in relation to a hit and run that occurred on Route 520 on August 13, 2020. The collision claimed the life of 26-year-old Ryan Nuke, who was found deceased on the roadway.

RCMP Labrador District General Investigation Section conducted a thorough investigation, with assistance from various support services of the RCMP, that led to the charges against Tremblay under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Provincial Highway Traffic Act.

Tremblay is charged with the following offences:

  • Failing to remain at the scene of a collision involving a death (Criminal Code of Canada)
  • Failing to stop at an accident scene (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Failing to provide name and address to police (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Failing to render assistance to injured person (Highway Traffic Act)

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 14, 2021, in Happy Valley Goose Bay.
