Russell Peltier is a language instructor at Enji-Maajtaawaad day care at Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. He joined London Morning with his grandson Kane Patterson to recite In Flanders Fields in Anishinaabemowin. The original poem by John McCrae was translated into Anishinaabemowin by Peltier’s cousin, Sandra Peltier, in 1995 as she reflected on her grandfather’s service in the First World War.
