Paddlers from 16 to 18 will take voyageur canoes on the adventure.
Registration is now open for this year’s Adventure in Understanding canoe trip, a six-day paddle for youth 16, 17 and 18 in late summer.
It’s the eighth year for the trip, which is organized by the Rotary Club of Peterborough-Kawartha with partners Camp Kawartha, Curve Lake First Nation and the Canadian Canoe Museum.
The trip leaves Beavermead Park on Aug. 27 and ends at Curve Lake First Nation on Sept. 1. Paddlers will travel through the Lift Lock, visit the Teaching Rocks at Petroglyphs Provincial Park and meet Elders from Curve Lake.
It will involve three 26-foot voyageur canoes with 20 youth and four leaders aboard.
