Cowessess Chief Cadmus Delorme expected to provide details at 9 a.m. CST

The chief of the Cowessess First Nation in southeast Saskatchewan is set to announce the discovery of a large number of remains at a former residential school site.

The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN), which represents Saskatchewan’s First Nations, made the media aware of the discovery on Wednesday.

A news release published Wednesday evening said Cowessess Chief Cadmus Delorme and FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron would hold a virtual news conference Thursday morning at 9 a.m. CST to provide more details of the findings.
